The night before Thanksgiving is often referred to as Black Wednesday (or Blackout Wednesday). In honor of that, we've brewed some new dark beers and we're serving them on Wednesday, November 23rd. We'll also be tapping the very last keg of Sublimation: Bourbon Barrel-aged Porter with Smoked Paprika and Fresh and Dried Chiles.

The Taste of Ravenswood is Friday, November 18th at the Ravenswood Event Center. This year's event will pair local breweries and distilleries with local restaurants. Empirical is partnering with Sweet Virginia's Kitchen, a soon-to-open restaurant in Ravenswood. We're pairing our Up Quark Passion Fruit Pale Ale with a sweet ancho pepper turkey chili. It's part pageant, part dog show! Empirical is hosting Beard-Tober in our taproom. The cost $20 for each contestant to enter and you'll receive a limited-edition Beard-Tober t-shirt.

The winner of each category receives $25 Empirical Gift Card and a gift certificate from Esquire Barber Shop or Father & Son Barber shop and moves on to BEST IN SHOW final round.
Audience picks the best in show winner, by buying a ballot for $10. The Best In Show winner receives a $100 in cash, their image hung in the taproom as Beard-Tober winner 2016 and a life time of bragging rights.
All money raised goes to the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry.
